Dog DNA Testing and Sequencing

Veterinary genetic testing has become popular in recent years for pet owners and veterinarians seeking genetic analysis.  This is especially true for dog genetic tests (canine DNA testing).  The completion and assembly of the dog genome was complete in 2004 (refer to the Canine Genome Sequencing Project).

One area that has garnered particular attention is the similarity between human and canine cancer genetics and comparative oncology.

Canine cancer genetics:  The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGEN) is one of the premier organizations in the world  in cancer genomics research.  One of their areas of focus is canine cancer genetics.
